To accept credit cards, you need a merchant account. There are basically two types of merchant accounts.

- Also known as Brick and Mortar or Swiped Account
- USB Reader for the Quantum Gateway
- Wireless Merchant Account
- Internet Merchant Account
- Telephone Merchant Account
- Mail Order Merchant Account
- Also known as Keyed Account
For an Internet Merchant Account, you need an electronic payment gateway (i.e. Quantum Gateway or Authorize.net). For a Retail Merchant Account, you need a Point of Sale (POS) terminal or wireless terminal.
